RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY STUDENT COUNCIL TO RELEASE THE CONDOLENCE LETTER TO THE FAMILY OF FORMER PRESIDENT CORAZON C. AQUINO


Whereas, the Legislative Assembly is the highest policy making body of the Student Council (Article VIII Section 1, De La Salle University Student Council Constitution);
Whereas, the Legislative Assembly shall concern itself with discussing and deciding on the resolutions on national and sectoral issues (Article VIII Section 4.3, De La Salle University Student Council Constitution);


Whereas, after battling colon cancer on 3:18 AM of August 1, 2009 former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino of the Philippines passed away from cardio respiratory arrest at the Makati Medical Center at the age of 76 (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/07/31/09/people-power-icon-cory-aquino-dies-79 );


Wherefore, be it resolved that the letter be forwarded to all batch assemblies and college assemblies of the Student Council upon the approval of the Legislative Assembly for information dissemination;

Wherefore, be it finally resolved that the Student Council President forward this letter to the family of former President Corazon C. Aquino.

(Unofficial) De La Salle University Freshman Elections LA Report

Of the 12 Legislative Assembly seats up for grabs in the recently concluded Freshman Elections, Santugon won majority of the seats over Tapat 9-3. This brings the total number of seats occupied in the assembly to 44 with a majority of at least 23 seats. Total seats garnered by political parties are the following:

Santugon - 26
Tapat- 17
Independent - 1
